Relay went out...
Well like the title says my relay died...
luckily my relay is located at an easy to get to location so I can jump the terminals with a quarter and I'm good to go. The local motorcycle parts store wanted $60 for the universal relay, god only knows how much for the fzr specific one... I think I'm going to get one from autozone. 12 bucks for a relay for a ford tempo. It will go nicely with my ford escort coils.
Re: Relay went out...
I assume you are talking about the starter relay. thats 78$ at my local stealership

Re: Relay went out...
All relays are pretty much the same. Thats why you can get them at autozone.
Re: Relay went out...
radioshack usually has power relays also, they usually have a schematic with them also on the package
ones life is the way it is only because you allow it make it happen.

Re: Relay went out...
maybe this should be a sticky in the ELECTRICAL / Mods section. I had no idea you could use automotive relays either.
Re: Relay went out...
i've found the relays online at most places online for oem parts for about 50 bucks for the fzr specific one if that helps any or do like i did and win a whole wiring harness off of ebay for 13 bucks that has one attached to it and hope that one is good

Re: Relay went out...
If its possible to do so, take the casing off the relay and resolder all the connections. 75% chance that'll revive it.maverick wrote:Well like the title says my relay died...luckily my relay is located at an easy to get to location so I can jump the terminals with a quarter and I'm good to go. Maverick,
What are the symptoms of a bad starters relay? BIke cranks but doesn't start? or just doesn't crank at all?
