I favor these more, I like the afterburner effect. The first ones looked like they required modifications to the "sideburns" of the back tail piece, or was that already broken?? Anyway part numbers and mounting details would be great for the WIKI. Maybe no the most popular mod but a mod none the less.

One suggestion would be to pull the rubber stoppers out from under the braket and pull the light in an inch or so, then it won't look as Flavor Flav 80's.

George,
Darrin's plate is lit by the LED lights on either side of the top of the plate. They simply wire through the bolt into the electrical system. They are bright enough to get the job done. He could have used anything really even a small cold cathode tube light from a PC.

Tony,
You mean the plate fixing bolts have LED's in them ? Sorry I can see the underside pic has external wires but it is not clear where they go and the rear view shows two fixing bolt blobs that are inline with the turn signals and two blobs in line with the state tax tags .Unless he has Photoshopped the lights out be the shy retiring type he is LoL

I've seen those bolts. Here's what I found with some quick googling.

Well you know what on second look it appears he does have his turn signals and plate bolted together, you may be right George he may not have a lamp back there specifically for the plate. We'll have to wait for him to chime in.

Darrin
I was actually looking at that same light at Napa the other day. Whats your wiring look like? That would look bad a$$ if you did some glass work to fill in the gaps.

Good find.

those led liscense plat bolts can be bought at your local murray auto parts or autozone . PePboys i think are a lil more expensive .. your best bet for stuff like those are online i would think , can also do search through auto parts .. not just bikes .. just they have some damn thin wire .. i have a plate on swingarm piece and dont use no light at night even though its supposedly the law here too but if a cop is behind you chances are his light should luminate yours also i have a strobe capsule mounted on the side of my bike where a clip from holding the wiring harness is , i just stuck it in there its pretty cool at night

I've seen the clear led lights made for our bikes and it was like $140.00 piss on that i spent $25 and an hour throwing it together. I could make it cleaner if i take more time like stated above do a bit of fiberglass work. Now as far as wiring that was easy I cut the plug off the old tail light and wired it to my new light then plugged it in. And someone stated it was off center, it is. The problem is the plug on the back of the light is near the end and how i mounted it to the old tail light piece it was hitting the bolt that bolts it to the bike. The is just a temp until i can figure out a way to better make a mount for the light to get it centered and positioned either in more or out. I cut the original light fixture straight down and mounted this light to it so i could use the bolts to bolt it in place. So anyone with better ideas to mount this light to something please chime in.
