Banjo bolt w/pressure switch for brake light

Post by mszilves »

Hey guys, found a good source for Goodridge banjos with a built-in brake light switch (pressure sensor). This comes in handy when doing the YZF swap (since you need to cut off the stock brake-light switch mount), and makes for a nice, clean install. Cheap too!

You will need the 10mm x 1.25 Single Bleed for the FZR master.

Yeah, bought it today... should have it this week. Total was $26 shipped. From what I've read, these things are really simple and work well. All you'll have to do is cut off the stock sensor, and splice this in place instead. Two wires, that's it. And of course bleed the rear brakes after.

Here's an update with the banjo installed. It works perfectly, and no need to worry about adjustments like the stock mechanical unit. Just splice the two wires into the subharness where the stock switch is (doesn't matter which wire goes to which, just connect the two from the switch to the two on the FZR harness), and you're all set.

M,
Yup I did mine as the switch unit was worn and I was changing to s/steel lines as well. Far superior set up in my book.

I followed the link and looked for the 10mm x 1.25 Single Bleed Banjo Bolt, but they only have the double bleed version listed. Looks like they sold out.

I can't find one on Denniskirk.com either. Any other sources for these? I need to see about getting one, as my brake light switch is sticking and I need to replace it. banghead

The guys at Blair Powersports (the link above) were really helpful, just give them a call, they should be able to get you one in the 10mmx1.25 size.

I'll give them a call a little later this week. I also just found one here, in case they don't have it:

It looks like Blair might be a little cheaper, though. :deal:
