Yay! I finally have her back!
after almost a month of not having my bike in riding condition (stupid voltage regulator) I finally got her back! I brought my dad's down to school with me and yesterday he and I met in Hillsboro and swapped. It's wonderful being back on my own bike again!

Thanks, for a country where nobody is allowed to mind his own business. Thanks, for a nation of finks.

Nice, seems like the voltage regulators are an issue on the 600s

Re: Yay! I finally have her back!
I've noticed that almost all of VRs on newer bikes (I've been looking since I replaced the VR on my fizz) seems to be almost identical. I don't want to imply anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if 80% of the newer japanese bikes on the road are using [virtually] identical VRs.
It has also been suggested on the fizzer listserv that the stock VRs are perfectly ok and most of the failures we see are probably related to corroded electrical connections.

Re: Yay! I finally have her back!
I still have mine (I don't have the fzr anymore, but i've got the burnt out VR). I think the corrosion comment was in regards to wiring.

Some solid state components and a coil or two. Not much to see there. It's pretty hard to get that black rubber crap out and a lot of it will still be stuck to the innards. I cut mine up so I could use the connector and not have to alter the stock wire harness.

I stabbed myself in the hand pretty good with a screwdriver in the process too. Definitely not worth the hassle just to see what's inside.
