Well that is really good to know. I will have to check that out.

I've been debating the sigma speedo because of cost. The pods would be great but I haven't seen a cheap one that will work with a magnet pickup. Since my build budget is 400 and I'm at 290 basically I can't go nuts.
basically your face!!

nailed it!

jsph.mitch used steel scrubber brushes your momma would use on your dirty pans for his exhaust packing.

I need to bring some crap, I mean some leftover junk, I mean some high quality parts to your house next week.

I wonder what I might have that you could use on the project.

I somehow missed a crapload of posts on this thread. I'm thinking the steelwool may be too loud. I mean it's a scooter. Some rumble would be nice, but not sure people need to hear you down the block.

And Haunter....If you have Jarts I'm there. If you have those new crappy ones without the sharp pointy end, then I boo you! And how come I haven't been hired yet to shoot your wedding???

I still need some sort of headlight since my friend doesn't seem to want to come through for me. You have to have a high quality one of those. Still need a damn brake line too. Course what I really need to do is get my ass in the basement and get moving on this thing again. It's so close to being rolling and from there it's pretty much bolt on.

Metal tipped are the only way to go!

Yeah, been shooting weddings for years now off and on. Just be careful when having a friend do it. It's a lot of stress for both parties but I think more for him. And hopefully he's done stuff like that before and isn't just "into photography." I've heard a lot of horror stories on that front. But I'll forgive you this once.

when i bought my house, the first "present" my mom gave me was the set of Jarts that i had when i was a kid. well used, but i still have the original box and rings and all, what a great game! throw a metal pointy tipped arrow at your buddy, i mean, the circle on the ground. The toys today are making abunch of wussy kids, bring back the original jarts, wood burning kits, and the big wheel, only to be used on a hill with a pitch of more than 45degrees! ok, back to your regularly scheduled thread. :hijack:
I did that.

Finally! An update! For those of you who have donated parts, don't worry, it will not be in vain! Just took some time lately to find some motivation.

Today was pretty productive minus a small issue with welding the motor attachments to the frame. Beyond that, things went pretty smooth. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.

Seat hinge in progress. Bought the seat from Dr. Rockso (who I'm going to guess is a smoker :whistle )

The hinge attachment point welded in place.
Image

Whole drilled for the gas cap.
Image

The tube that will seal off that hole and have the cap threads welded to it.
Image

Hey there it is welded in.
Image

Look it's the cap. It's not welded on yet. I just wanted to see how it would look. The cap will not stay red either. It's chipping off already so I'm going to go with something else.
Image

While things were cooling down I took some pictures of the new parts I've had sitting on the table.

New grips (Thanks Matt/YAM)
Image

Brake pads and shoes.
Image
Image

Ignition (Thanks Nick/Demon_knight)
Image

New Digital dash. Got it for 18 bucks and it has a lot of features. Not to mention it fits beautifully between the risers.
Image

The seat hanging out.
Image

A front look.
Image

A low front look. It's not much wider than the forks the whole way through.
Image

A back look.

A low back look.

The battery box.

That's all I got for now. I might get down there tomorrow to try and do some more. I'm wrestling with the seat support for the springs and the rear shock. Still not sure if I'm going to keep it or not.
