George, If you want to use the 3en hanger you're going to have to get a fzr400 wheel as it uses a 210mm disc opposed to a 240mm. A 400 caliper needs to be used with a 400 wheel (The 400 1wg and 3en use the same rear calipers) or do what I did and have a small amount of material removed form the bottom of the caliper.

Do you have pics of the 3en2 swing arm to show us the differences?
Yup I ran straight into that GOTCHA yesterday with the £en/1WG caliper not clearing the disc


However Look as you did on caliper metal removal looked to be a problem of hitting the two bolts that hold the caliper LH & RH halves together.
The alternate would be removing 15mm from outer diameter but that may mean you end up hitting rim holding bolts
OR a combination of the two some on the caliper and a little off the disc.
IS the 400 disc a different mounting pattern on to the wheel do you Know ?
