Will this can fit?

Post by jeremy »

Will a Yoshimura RS3 slip on from a FZR 400 be a direct bolt on for the 600?

Thanks!

I have a Yoshi RS-3 on my bike. The important thing is to make sure that the inlet on the the midpipe is 2" inside diameter (id). The stock FZR600 header has a collector outlet size of 2" outside diameter (OD).
Hope that helps. my2cents

I"ve got an 89 400 with stock headers and a V&H SSR Slip-on from a 600.. Now, the header outlet was a little smaller than the OD of the slip-on so I just brought the 2 pieces to a local muffler shop and had them expand the header pipe a little bit to accomodate the slip-on.. It fit perfectly and I've got no issues with it.

Now, in your case I'm assuming that the 400 slip-on will be slightly undersized for the 600 headers, so you'll just have to have the slip-on opened up a little bit.. Other than that, I don't see why you'd have any issues with it.
