Fuel gauge??

Post by yamaboy »

Hey guys , I'm planning on buying this fuel gauge set : http://www.jcwhitney.com/FUEL-LEVEL-GAU ... QAWidgetID and trying to make it work on the fzr .. I know it'll only work when the bike is standing straight but it's better than guessing..

What do you guys think??

i think you should rest your trip odometer when you fill up and just find out when you hit reserve. that way you don't have to guess. i'd say it's more reliable than an aftermarket fuel gauge. plus you know exactly how many miles you have left...

That holds true if your riding style is the same for every tank of gas.. I know I ride more aggressively some times and other times like when I drive to work(highway) its very mild. Cant really compare a 45mpg ride to a 20 mpg ride.

yamaboy, install that and maybe do a write up if all works out well. For $25 its not a bad deal at all.

Yeah , you are right. My driving is like a rollercoaster.. Sometimes i barely get 20mpg. I'll need to get a spare gas tank than I'll let you guys know. Don't want to mess up mine if it doesn't work.

The stock tank does not have a sensor or anything in the tank. You will need more than the gauge. I hope it works for you.

Its more than a gauge, it comes with a level sensor too.
