Racing Tach. Know where to get one?
I'd like to have a tach with a light for Track Days. Any idea where to get one?

Vapour I believe do a digital tach which is supposed to be very sexy according to a bunch of guys on the Chassis list.
There are small diameter ones that are mechanical but for an FZR hmmm I would look at Kart websites

Look at this site. It's a German site, but someone will have these in your country.ragedigital wrote:I'd like to have a tach with a light for Track Days. Any idea where to get one?

I'd like to have an analog one that has a large light like drag cars.
I'm just not into the digital gauges...
I'll check Jeg's to see if they have one with a high enough RPM.

It looks like it retails for $350 but it's a start.

You should try one rage. You might like them. Put an R6/R1 Gauge on there.

It probably wouldn't be too hard since this is for my YZF600 engine.95FZR600 wrote:You should try one rage. You might like them. Put an R6/R1 Gauge on there.
All I really want is a shift light, but I thought I had to buy an expensive Tach to have it work.
Looks like this MSD Shift Light might do the trick.
This one looks pretty cool too: http://www.ecliptech.com.au/main_win_sep06.html

i have a auto meter on my prerunner with a shift light but is big like 5 1/2 inches in diamater. there great and but i think it only goes to 10 or 11 thousand rpm. check ebay they usually have them and normally in stores they do go for about 250 to 450 brand new.
after searching ebay all the tachs i found went up to 11 thousand nothing higher. but here is just the shift light that you can install with your existing tach.

i think this is your best bet. unless you want to spend a few hundread on a new tach setup but i havent seen a tach that goes past 12000. plus this one is only 50 bucks. or you would have to get a digital tach which i see you dont really want to do. hope this helps.

Doesn't look to bad. Probably won't get one till later, but that's a decent choice.

Re: Racing Tach. Know where to get one?
That Shift-I light seems like it would work really well. I was looking at a shift light for my probe a long time ago cuz I didn't want a big tach on my dash and I was settled on the shift lights that had a knob on the back for rpm adjustment. They were relatively cheap too. I think they only went up to 12k though.
