new vr and no avail!!!

Post by pkhype »

so my bike---94 fizz 600-- started acting funny--- like it was pulling back when i tached above 7000. Then I decided to trickle charge my battery. The next morning I started it up to go to work, bit didnt take it because it was back firing and it sounded like shi##. So after discussion on this website I was determined that it was the voltage regulator. I bought a new one-- and a new battery. now the bike wont stay idling unless you hold the throttle wide open. But the odd thing is that when you disconnect the VR the bike revs up like its running better!!! ANY ideas.., this is my first bike. Its all i looked forward to after being in IRaq for a year. Now theres not much riding time left. PLeas help.

Does your fuel pump click a few times when you turn your key to the on position ? Whats your fuel filter look like?

The clicking is normal, it's the pump filling the float bowls. Take a look at the fuel filter, it's attached to the bottom of the fuel tank.

Oh yeah, does the bike have a jet kit, aftermarket intake or exhaust? Hopefully we can get you running, my bro is home on leave right now and I know how precious every minute is.
