Interesting... not much tech info on their site as to how it actually works. Do the beads just roll around inside the tire or do they settle?

Re: balancing beads ??? no need to take wheel to be balanced !!
so i went to a local bike shop that deals mostly with goldwings but will service any bike .. they had these beads to balance the bike's wheel .. i grabbed a starter kit which consisted of 2) BAGS OF BEADS one was 2 ounces the other was 1 ounce , 2) special valve stems so the bead dont clog the airway , a bottle and plastic hose to apply them thru the valve stem , the lady mention that she sold them to this guy who kept complaining of shake over 70 in his harley , no matter how many times he had his wheels balanced , she set him up wit these and he supposedly came back and said he got his Hog up to 120 and didnt feel a thing .. hmm but i decided let me get them anyways , so this is what they look like for a sport bike .. just need to get a new front tire now ..
.. ohh and she recommend that the tire be filled with nitrogen but had said she never had one returned with compressed air ..

I used compressed air in my Jeep and my bike with no problems. I had a bad vibe in my jeep, and once I put the beads in the vibe was gone, no matter how fast I was going. I think they are great for the cost.PIMPMYFZR wrote:so i went to a local bike shop that deals mostly with goldwings but will service any bike .. they had these beads to balance the bike's wheel .. i grabbed a starter kit which consisted of 2) BAGS OF BEADS one was 2 ounces the other was 1 ounce , 2) special valve stems so the bead dont clog the airway , a bottle and plastic hose to apply them thru the valve stem , the lady mention that she sold them to this guy who kept complaining of shake over 70 in his harley , no matter how many times he had his wheels balanced , she set him up wit these and he supposedly came back and said he got his Hog up to 120 and didnt feel a thing .. hmm but i decided let me get them anyways , so this is what they look like for a sport bike .. just need to get a new front tire now .... ohh and she recommend that the tire be filled with nitrogen but had said she never had one returned with compressed air ..

I'm following this beads thread with quite a bit of interest. Since I put my RaceTech springs on, I get very rhythmic vibration in the bars that is almost straight up and down. I'm thinking my front is out of balance and I'd love a solution as easy as dumping this stuff in the tire.
As far as the nitrogen concerns, the only issue I could see is moisture. You want the beads to be able to move around freely. If they're sticking together they probably aren't going to work as well.
Re: balancing beads ??? no need to take wheel to be balanced !!
The place i got mine from , the lady said they have sold over 2,000 sets of these bead cost me 16 for both front and back . and she says she hasnt had one complaint from a customer about them , now how many of them took her advice and filled the tires with nitrogen i dont know , but im guessing majority of them probably used regular compressed air .my only thing is what time of the day would be the best to fill the air , in the morning when the air is colder or in middle of the day when its hot ..Luke-a-Tron wrote:That thing is pretty sweet looking. Re: balancing beads ??? no need to take wheel to be balanced !!
It doesn't make a difference really. What matters is the temperature of the tires. You should always check your pressure on cold tires. Cold being whatever the ambient temperature is where you are. As the temperature goes down, the air will shrink and the pressure will drop. I think the ratio is roughly 1 psi per 10 degrees F. Or maybe it's 20 degrees, I forget exactly.
Re: balancing beads ??? no need to take wheel to be balanced !!
on something driven on the street the difference in the air pressure is nothing to worry about. just check pressure with your tires being cold. Luke-a-tron was dead on the ratio is 1 psi. per 10 degrees of change.

Hi,
well those of us in the UK can get Dyno-beads from scorpion racing just off the north circular road in North London.
They seem to be the only one of 4 dealers in the UK that actually mention them on their web site:-

Back in 93 I turned wrenches at a used bike shop called Motorcycles of Manchester (N.H.) we used this stuff called balance slime. After you mounted the tire u removed the valve core and squeezed a bottle in reinstalled the core and air it up and u were done. I tested all the bikes I used this on (many at 100+ mph) and never had a problem. A few years ago I got a set of Super-swamper T-rex tires for my Jeep and had a high speed shake that I couldnt fix. So I returned to Mom's got 4 bottles of slime and the shake was gone!!!!

I would worry that the tyre coolant effect may be detrimental to my tyres gripping in the corners as per cold tyre syndrome on race bikes by never letting the tyre get to its correct operating temp.
I will stick with the bead idea for the present time .
Re: balancing beads ??? no need to take wheel to be balanced !!
Hey guys, just want to let you know the beads does work. I've been using it in my tires for 2 years now, and not a wobble. My ride is always smooth, no matter what speed I'm doing. Just make sure you get the correct amount for your wheels. I'm about to order some more, cause I need to change my tires. Actually I'm about to spray a set of rims I purchased, going from the 3.5 rear, to the 4.0 rear. So, I'm going to need to balance them after I put the tires back on. Thanks, to Dyna Beads we all can do this ourselves.

Re: balancing beads ??? no need to take wheel to be balanced !!
I so need to order this stuff. I threw the weight off my front tire at some point today and now I get all manner of harmonic vibration as the front and rear wheels come in and out of phase. This could play nicely into the "FZR Orgasms" thread though.
