1987 FZR1000 Piston Rings?

Hi all:

I'm a new member here, based in Ariona USA.

I'm in the midst of transplanting a 1987 FZR1000 top end (cylinders, pistons, camshaft, carbs) onto my 1986 FZX700, and I've been told by the guy honing the cylinders that the piston rings are on backorder and won't be available until sometime in August (!)

Is he b.s.-ing me, or is this true? Do any of you know if it is possible to get brand new piston rings, for stock pistons on standard-size (not over-bored) cylinders, here in the U.S.A., that won't take so long to get? (I'm really eager to get the old girl on the road, as you can tell!)

Any help you can give me will be much appreciated. Thanks very much.
