if you use regular masking tape , depending on how long you leave it on the rim theres a possibility that you can take some paint of your rim or it will leave the sticky residue on your paint . theres some Blue tape painters use work great . you can find it at home depot or Lowes . then theres also a chance the stripping gel or spray might eat right thru the tape maybe over lap the tape to get a thick base .

being that you are using a paint stripper such as "aircraft remover" (get it at walmart)

you probably should look for some acid resistant tape or like was mentioned before.... double up, triple up....

This stuff is very nasty and works fast... very fast.

I also suggest getting the brush on type instead of the aerosol. Drifting of the vapors can damage other parts of your rim if you aren't careful with the aerosol.

Plus have a water hose handy at the time of application or take it to a car wash to do the application so you can "power" rinse the stuff off.

You will have residue left over! Use paint remover or spirits on a rag to remove the remaining residue. Then use mothers or never dull or your choice of favorite polish.

I have stripped my whole rims in the past and frames with this stuff. It activates and works within 2-5 mins or less (bubbling effect of the paint). You also may need to apply a second coat of aircraft remover. so keep that in mind also.

When I did mine I used the spray and some hit the forks and that paint came right off. Whew! That stuff works.

Just Be Patient when doing this stuff .. Dont Rush Take the time to slowly tape off the line first < i did it in small patches of tape instead of long ones , in my mind the circle comes out perfectly lined people wont believe you did it thats how good it can look> But Dont rush it ..apply the stuff and let it sit for a while <or how long suggested on the instructions> i would leave it even a lil bit longer .
Patience is the key and God knows i dont havee any .. i thought that stuff was supposed to strip aircrafts lol like magic till i went and bought my 3rd bottle of it .. LOL2
