after talking to him further, this was the aext response
Hi Dillon
No the 4681 was both piggy back and hose linked depending on the fitment and model bike.
Now that I have seen the picture of the reservoir it looks like someone has “bodged” it by installing a valve to install gas which WP do not do, in which case we will not be able to rebuild this unit.
Apologise

Hi Dillon
We wont take it on because it has been modified and unfortunately the reservoir is not available because of the age.
We possibly could replace it with the newer type reservoir which are around £85 and looking at the condition I would say the cost to rebuild including parts will be around £200-£300 + shipping

Re: Please help me identify this shock!
I don't know too much about shocks, so what you're saying is i'm boned? You don't think there's any way to revive this thing? There may be other places in the US that could rebuild it?YAM93 wrote:ever heard the expression "trying to get blood out of turnips" ?

Edit: I called a couple US shops. They said they can rebuild it no problem and that usually people drill and tap the reservoir with a valve because it makes it way easier to recharge. WP just wouldn't take it because it had been modified. Phew!
Another edit: Found a guy in Wisconsin who rebuilds shocks out of his home. Has a pretty professional website and rebuilds lots and lots of shocks. $35 + parts. Sounds like a deal to me!

Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.
