The cover is fine, just the cotter pin the goes through the bolt the holds the pads in place broke and Yamaha may sell them just they are really expensive like $15willandrip wrote:It has a cranked shape so that the inspection cover may be replaced.
Either lock wire the pin in or use a std small R clip as fitted to the later calipers without the inspection cover fitted.
Order two from any Yamaha dealer ...the postage will be greater than the items.
Replace the temporary securing item when they arrive.
I saw that after I got the part no. From St. Once rec. Which I guess they didn't understand me. And your reply was a bit confusing but I get it now.willandrip wrote:Read my reply again....
I did not state to replace the cover.
I stated the reason for the crank in the R clip is so the cover can fit or be replaced after inspection or refitted ....whatever....
Oh and the part number you quote is for the pin....not the R clip retainer.
So you think I can either get a different stud or pin from a dealer?snydes wrote:I saw that after I got the part no. From St. Once rec. Which I guess they didn't understand me. And your reply was a bit confusing but I get it now.willandrip wrote:Read my reply again....

I need the r-clip and I'll check with my local dealer.willandrip wrote:Your pic shows the cranked "R" clip.
This is the part no.
3HE-25925-00
The part no. you quoted is for the pad retaining pin... the part that the R clip retains !
Which do you require.?
Both are service parts...cheap and readily available to order from any Yamaha dealer....a good one may have them in stock otherwise at most a 10 day back order.
Our bikes are old...they are not obsolete with no parts backup.!
