Rear Rotor Help!

Post by snydes »

I am looking for a good place to buy a rotor for my 1989 FZR 400. I bought one from JC Whitney saying it was a OE Part, but when I got the rotor it was about 2 inches larger in diameter and had a twisted 5 bolt pattern. I was luckily able to return it after the # of days limit after ordering.

I was thinking about getting this rotor but the site seems a bit sketchy.

http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/yamaha/fzr_ ... _rear_ebc/

Wondering if anyone knows another place to get one as ive searched the internet all over pretty much, also not a fan of ebay for this kind of stuff.

Thanks,

AS

I was told my rear brake was fluctuating by something like 1.whatever millimetres by an MOT station, to which I replied I couldn't feel it, they persisted telling me they'd waive the fitting charge but it would be £88. So I said I'd think about it which I did, found a different MOT station who passed it.
That was as close as I came to buying one, I might have a look in my garage later this week and see if there's a spare but do you really need one, or is it because you've got a new wheel ? I think I got a new one for some dymags

Yes I do because in the manual there is a limit how thin the disc should be and mine is way past that distance. I also didn't get a new wheel.

OK well Wemoto is ok but it's a UK shop so the postage maybe a tad high. EBC make them they might have a distributor in Canadialand in which case you may not have to pay big postage costs.

Yup - all the FZR rear discs are the same ... they're the smallest rear disc fitted to a production bike ;)

All FZR400 rear discs may be the same, but not all FZR rear discs are the same.

Seeing as you're in the FZR400 forum and there's a links to specific discs it would follow that, that's what we're talking about
