OEM or aftermarket chain tensioner ?
My chain is super loose. Ordered a new chain and want a new chain cam tensioner too. Should I go with a new factory one or one of those adjustable aftermarket ones?

Just wondering are you talking about the main drive chain or your cam chain? Main drive chain has 2 tensoners on the rear of the swingarm cam chain is inside the engine.

OEM or aftermarket chain tensioner ?
There are a few bikes that benefit from aftermarket cam chain tensioners, mostly the automatic OEM ones are replaced where very hard riding forces oil pressure up and when the throttle is shut off under heavy load the oil pressure remains, temporarily messing up the timing is my impression of why.
There are some videos detailing why on UTube.
In addition, the manual ones require a diligent inspection regime to ensure optimum performance.

Our bikes have mechanical automatic adjusters. No oil pressure involved,
