More Trunk Room?
Hey guys,
This is my first post. I've found answers to most of my problems, but not this one. Is there a way to get more trunk room under the back seat? I don't even have room for a mt.dew in there
Thanks bros

Yep, I was thinking the exact same thing. No room for the dew. I think You're out of luck. I wish there wads a little more room. I don't want to wear a backpack. And I didn't work so hard on my bike to make it look good so I could cover it up with a tank bag or a tail bag. I was thinking, I have a passenger seat cowl on my bike so maybe I could some how remove the seat and fabricate some sort of latch for it, you know modify it a little, and have a good bit more room.

You understand my pain brother. It really does suck. If you do think of anything/do anything though, i'm sure many will appreciate it. I was wondering if there's another tail/back end that fits and has more space. Like a YZF or FZ or something

Re: More Trunk Room?
you should see the tail room on my friends Panigale, couldn't fit his wallet and cigar in there at the same time. The 900rr has a nice sized tail sections that may work well with the far lines, it's all about time and money.

What about reenforcing the fibreglass seat cover, attaching the seat lock it, filling in the void where the seat pokes though and hey presto you can get rid of the seat and have that extra couple of inches under your seat???

That's what I am thinking, I will keep a look out for a extra seat cowl to experiment with.Gizzard1533 wrote:What about reenforcing the fibreglass seat cover, attaching the seat lock it, filling in the void where the seat pokes though and hey presto you can get rid of the seat and have that extra couple of inches under your seat???

Re: More Trunk Room?
I was actually thinking that because i have an extra seat with a white FZR cover on (for racing looks i guess). However, i have a lady who thoroughly enjoys the ride and would be sad is she ever lost he place on it.Gizzard1533 wrote:What about reenforcing the fibreglass seat cover, attaching the seat lock it, filling in the void where the seat pokes though and hey presto you can get rid of the seat and have that extra couple of inches under your seat???

If you got a spare seat cant you mess about with that one? The only real problem i can see is the seat catch at the back???Zantar6 wrote:I was actually thinking that because i have an extra seat with a white FZR cover on (for racing looks i guess). Re: More Trunk Room?
There are tank bags that come with clips
Also I've seen modifications where high-power magnets are glued inside the plastic tank cover
Just a few options, I love my tank bag

Yeah, I was going to mention this. To explain further, my A-stars bag has one strap that goes down, under, and around the the steering head tube and another that goes under and through the subframe (in front of the battery box).Fizzinatorr wrote:There are tank bags that come with clips

Re: Re: More Trunk Room?
Think of all the extra weight those magnets would add though . Not wanting to use a tank/tail pac has also been mentioned so trying to think of other ways.Fizzinatorr wrote:There are tank bags that come with clips

Im real tempted to look into removing the seat but keeping to cover so i've got a deeper compartment.
