660 carb question

Post by JeCarter »

Ok so I'm trying to figure out everything I need for the 660 build. Say I go with the yzf head what carbs should I use? The tps carbs have me confused. How would you use the tps or could you just bypass it. And could I use the fzr head with yzf con rods?

YZF conrods requires the use of a spacer (roughly 3mm thick underneath the cylinder block. This also changes the cam timing, so adjustable cam sprockets are required.

I used teh FZR carbs, fzr head, and fzr rods bored at the small end to fitthe yzf wrist pins. yzf cylinders and pistons. YZF base and head gasket.

That's it, complete parts list needed if you have a complete running FZR engine already

Thanks reelrazor

How many miles have you racked on your build now? And what was the jetting you used on the stock head?

I have about 5,000 miles on it.

Not stock head, ported FZR head with megacycle cams (x3, x5 I can't remember which grind at this moment), and their double coil spring and titanium keeper set.

I ended up with 125 mains, the big pilots (from the FP kit, #35??), needles one clip higher than center, float level at 23mm

Don't know that it makes a difference. While the 4JH and 4TV models use different p/ns for the pistons and crank, the piston rings, wrist pins, con rods, bearings and cylinder blocks are all the same, so they can't be THAT different ...

Mine are from 2000. Most of the pistons on eBay are the 4tv pistons which is what I've read I needed.
