I think my new plan was to somehow avoid the splice into the hose, and go right for the wires, or actually use te vapor sender piece to replace the stock one. Seems like it would be the most accurate for the engine/warning temp.

That will work, and is the only way to go.

Already covered and solved in a previous thread, who I wonder solved the issue :whistle.

I can't find the thread either. The search engine on most forums is not too good. No offence intended

Remove the stock sender unit (circled in Orange below) and replace it with the vapor sender unit, I know others have attempted to steer you on the same path :cheers:

Yep, others have tried, and I tried to follow. I just thought maybe you had a thread with some details. I think I'm good though now.
