Where are you located? You might be somewhere where someone could just come and try their VR on your bike. When you checked the voltage between the 3 wires they were all between 40-60? I ask because IMO 11 volts is more than enough to fire the bike. You could unhook the head lights (see if the batt stays at 12 to fire the bike) I had problems at 10.4 but I think mine now goes to 11. Of course I can't get mine to fire after taking the carbs apart but that's a whole different story.

Ya the bike is in west windsor nj, right next to princeton but i'm going to be around until the weekend after the one coming up.

thanks, the problem actually was the voltage regulator
