Charging probmlems

Post by AyJay »

Ok... seem to have found the problem...but why and where is the fault?

When messured the volt at the battery it is 12.5 and goes down to 12.4 when I start the bike, the book says it shoud be about 13.7 when at 3000 rpm

I also felt the regulator gettin hot so i guess the alternator is working(dont know how to messure this)
I know I forgot to ground the regulator when i rebuilt my subframe, and ran it a bit coud this have fokked it?
Anny ideas what my problem is and what I can do?
Is a regulator xpensive?

Might want to check the for sale section here or ebay for one from an R6/R1/YZF600r Thundercat/Euro FZR600R and then do this.
