Hey guys I'm Aaron
Just bought myself my 2nd bike now 89' FZR250 with 36000kz
So on the night I bought it I decided to see what its capable of.. took it on the motorway and clocked about 175kmh (amazing!!)
The problem started when I let the throttle close as I took the off ramp, the bike pretty much cut off??? Well no power as though I'm out of fuel and cut off as soon as I stopped, wouldn't start up again.
Turned the key off and back on battery again and the EXUP noise didn't come this time (the zeep zeeeeeep sound) what did come was a grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr (for about 5-15secs) which I think was the fuel pump??
Now the previous owner said something like this would happen if I did close the throttle quickly after a good blat. He said that the carbs would flood and that its normal?? (but I seriously doubt that) he told me to get it started again you have to do a ritual of opening and closing the throttle before starting it up again, that would apparently clear the carbs of the extra fuel and what not. So I thought I'd try it out on a dead night instead of traffic and me looking like an idiot.
So how I got it working again and get that zeep zeeeeep sound again - was not with the opening and closing of the throttle but by simply turning the gas tank to reserve 0_o turning the key on and off the grrrrrr sound slowly disappeared and the zeep zeeeeep started again.
Am I an idiot for over worrying and I was just out of gas (I'm very sure there was more than enough gas) or do you think there is a hidden problem there??
Any feedback is appreciated thanks!!
Nice to join the family

Ride a 600 myself so not familiar with the 250's but to me if sounds like you where just low on fuel, the fuel pump going for more than 5 seconds is usualky a good sign that you are. Fill it up, give it a blat and if the problem rises its head again then look further into it. That would be what i would do.

Hey yeah I was thinking that Id do exactly that. But since the previous owner told me about the not starting problem I was a little worried as I didn't know what exactly he meant.
But thanks for that, will try it again and let you know if the problem persists.
