Hi All, First post on this board. I am looking for the stock Carb settings for my 92 FZR600 W/ the full exup system.
I have noticed that when I am on the road, and as soon as I hit 7k rpm, the bike really looses all power. I am going to be looking into the EXUP system first, but I need to find the stock settings for the carbs, because I do not think the carbs are 100% right yet also because idle is a little jumpy. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Re: Stock Settings for carbs w/ EXUP system
Welcome aboard finally. I gotta get out the valley and check out your FZR. Nice work. I don't recall there being any difference on the carbs between and exup and non exup models. I remember it being just the CDI, the servo and valve in the header, the "air injection" system, and the cams being different. Far as I know the carbs are the same. I haven't really dived into my carbs yet sot verify this though.

Re: Stock Settings for carbs w/ EXUP system
The only differences that I'm aware of is that the starter jet on the EXUP models is a #50, while non-EXUP models are a #52.5. Plus, on the EXUP models, we have the little hoses that come from the vapor canister.
I can say that 99% of your problem is with your emulsion tubes. I feel like I should be paid by Factory Pro each time I say it, but it's true.
How many miles do you have on the bike?

Sweekster, Thanks! I have had alot of fun modding the bike. Actually, this FZR came out of the salvage yard in Lancaster (on Sierra Highway by Ave I, Big Jim's old Salvage yard). I am in North Hollywood and work in Santa Monica, definately stop by, as soon as she is running right, we will have to go for a ride, SoCal has the best roads.....
RageDigital, I have been toying around with getting the new Emulsion tubes, I might just bite the bullet today and get them to eliminate that out of the equasion. The bike really is great minus this glitch. I have no clue how many miles were on the bike, I pulled it out of a junkyard and rebuilt it. http://www.fzrarchives.com/ipb/index.ph ... opic=34699 You are correct about the 50's being different, I was curious if the 107.5's I have were stock, or the PO was messing with the carbs. Could the Emulsion tubes really cause such a dramatic drop in performance at 7k rpm's?
Thanks for the replies, the help is always appreciated.

Re: Stock Settings for carbs w/ EXUP system
What happens is that those emulsion tubes wear out and start dumping fuel into the carbs. At 1/4 throttle or the 7k range, it stumbles due to too much fuel.
If you had or have adjustable needles, then you could simply drop them down a couple notches and lean out the circuit.
It is best to take the emulsion tubes out of the equation and just replace them.

No flippin way. Last time I was in there all they had was an Fzr tank cover and that was a year ago. Gotta go back. And I also work on the west side (Santa Monica & Sepulveda). Live in both Hollywood (got an APT by the bowl) and Lancaster (West side close to lake Elizabeth). Small frickin world.Superfly wrote:Sweekster, Thanks! I have had alot of fun modding the bike.
