I'm just curious because the last Couple of days I have been running really hot. And by that I mean less than an 1/8 in from the red. And that's at 72 degrees and on the interstate. She just randomly started doing this. The Only things I have changed is that I'm running peak antifreeze because I ran out of water wetter after I had changed the antifreeze. And then I did accidentally over filled the overflow tank a couple of days ago and it peed everwhere when I got to work. Tonight on the ride home it was 61 and the bike stayed normal but everytime I came to a light the temp would rise a bit and never come back down. I'm thinking like a restriction somewhere hense my question.

Also, something else I forgot to add. When I stop somewhere and turn the bike off when the guage is at hot. If I wait 10 to 20 seconds and turn the bike to on but not start her up. The guage will be back to at least 3/4 do ht again and it's at about 1/2

The temp gauge is not affected by pressure, but the temperature of the coolant can be. Higher pressure maintained inside the system means a) the overflow port doesn't open, so you have more mass absorbing (and shedding) the heat from the engine, and b) you don't have local boiling disrupting the flow through the jackets / pump.
Overfilling the reservoir will not affect the running of the bike; it's a self-correcting (and as you noticed, messy!) situation.
When you changed the antifreeze, did you mix it properly? Was it 'ready to use / premix', or was it concentrated? Concentrated antifreeze really isn't a good coolant, and needs to be diluted with water (usually 50/50) to get the proper cooling function.
It sounds like it might be time for a flush of your cooling system.

Yeah it was 50 50 mix both times. However I just remembered it was peak one time and something else the other. I was in a pinch. I'm going to get the ir gun out soon to make sure it is actually that warm in the rad. I do need to flush it again and put in water wetter. But it is frustrating that I put less than 2k since the new coolant. Oh well. Thanks.

Are you sure you dont have an air bubble. An air bubble in the cooling system ( car, truck, bike ) will make it over heat.

I'm not sure. It's possible. When it gets low I have been adding it to the overflow tank instead of the port under the false tank. So that could be a factor. I'll check it out too. Adding to the reservoir is fine under normal circumstances, when the cooling system is fully purged. Unfortunately, when actually trying to fill / purge the system, you need to do at the rad cap.
