Claryfing Poor Man's Integrator

Post by yamaboy »

Hello everyone!

I'm a bit confused here. Attempted to do this mod today but need some help.

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=205

Link above says:
Two 12VDC 10A SPDT relays (requires a normally closed terminal, Radioshack has some good ones, part number 275-248)
One 12VDC 10A DPDT relay (also requires a NC terminal, Radioshack part number 275-249)Is this mean that I need a 12VDC 10A DPDT relay and also a 12VDC 5A DPDT relay(part#275-0249 for a total of 2 relays??
A few butt connectors, or Solder/Electrical Tape
2 Male Blade Connectors
2 Male Bullet Connectors

3 or 4 relays needed? I bought 275-0248 (2x) and they are the same as in the picture. However , 275-0249 is very diferent.http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=2062483 .. .It is rated at 5A and not 10A...Is that a typo in the mod or will the 5A relay work as well? In the manual : http://www.radioshack.com/graphics/uc/r ... _DS_EN.pdf
is different than the diagram for the mod. Found this relay rated at 10A :http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=2049722..

Also do you connect a wire from NC to COM for the 12VDC (275-0248) relay? Or is the common ground go straight to the NC and the COM does not get used?

More questions, here I come:
In the "Making Single Filament Bulbs Blink" ...
When using the 12VDC 10A SPDT(radio shack part#275-0248) do you connect the existing blue wire to the NC? Or does it connect to COM as well?

Also , do you just solder the wires to the tips on the relays and then fill with liquid tape ??

Looks like Naes website is down , so does anyone know ?
Thanks in advance.

There are only 3 relays used (2) SPDTs and (1) DPDT. What wattage of bulbs are those that are being used? Unless they're high (over 60 watts) the 5 amp DPDT should be fine in the center.

On the SPDTs, the NC is attached to the black wire coming from each individual bulb. Both the COIL and COM connections have GROUND attached to them.

You're probably fine soldering them on, but I would use heat shrink tubing (adhesive lined, if you have it) over the connections - unless you prefer liquid tape.
