Re: Side covers interchangabilty?
Peanut (starter gear) cover from a YZF600 will fit the FZR600. That is the only one that I know of.

Cheers Rage. That's what is leaking I believe. Haven't gotten to get the bike in the shop yet just talk of what's wrong.

Re: Side covers interchangabilty?
The stator cover apparently physically bolts up, but the timing pickup is in the wrong spot. An aftermarket programmable ignition could handle this, but the OEM box will have the spark happening way off.

Re: Side covers interchangabilty?
There is a mounting for the ignition pickup on the crancase casting. I have mounted mine there (as well as doing the advancer mod) because, if I do wipe out on the left hand side I will still have ignition even if the stator windings are mashed. So I would say that the later sator cover can be used. Not tried so cant be definitive.
Re: Side covers interchangabilty?
Okay well its not the stator side, customer. Sent me pictures... stator side(left when on bike) noticed the adjusting screw and it hit me... its the right hand side(when on bike) peanut cover which is leaking so if it does bolt up that'll be good, if not. Does anyone hae a god peanut cover for a thundercat before I scour ebay
