A mate in the 2011 El Dakaro team

Post by yamaha_george »

this blog will be written up by Ian Drysdale from Oz who I count amongst the cyber friends I know from other technical lists
I'm off to the 2011 Dakar, flying out to Argentina on Xmas day, I'm "embedded"
in the GHR Honda team from Australia, as a "Media Attache".

GHR ( Glen Hoffman Racing ), although not big budget, are a very slick outfit
and don't be surprised to see 1 or 2 of the rider's in the top ten.
This is GHR's
first foray outside Australia, but they have been very successful at home in
our home grown "mini-Dakar".  ( The 8 day Australain Safari )

2011 is intended to be a learning experience, which it no doubt will be, but
the team is very committed and champing at the bit.  Feel free to follow us

I've done 4 night school classes in Spanish, which has made me the most
experienced Spanish speaker on the team, hey, what could go wrong.  Also,
having supported another aussie in the 2009 Dakar, I'm also the most
experienced "international" member of the team ! ( Ummm..... )

15 days of flies, sand blowing in my face, little or no sleep, can't wait !!

Cheers           IAN
