well done! and you maintained the stock rear seat

watch those gaps though, seal them up tighter or rain will wreck havoc on your electronics

i just kept cutting stock tail down but still wasnt happy so i got a r6 tail for 99p off ebay ,i cut in half down the lenghth , offered up to bike and just trimmed bit at a time until i was happy i had a good fit, i then fibreglassed it together ,i cut the front of tail short to create air gap for a flow of air to get to the vr as i believe they can overheat

I think your bike looked great as it was. I do prefer the R6 tail though looks better.

The tail still needs lifting imo, jack up dog bones?

I think it looks great! Now that people can see that you can use both stock seats, R6 tails might start going up in price!

I bought my bike with a R6 tail and stock seats, I loved the look that was one of the main reasons I bought it.

However my tail was only cut @ the section between the riders seat and pillion seat, and forced inwards (narrowed to fit the narrower stock seats) the stressed tail then quickly fractured @ the rear.

I think tony has provided the solution, cut the tail in half lenght wise = no stress on the tail.

I must stress with an undertray/undertail fitted the stock VR will overheat (no air flow) and can systematically fry you electrical components, Bulbs, Turn signal relay, Tach, Battery and TCI, to mention a few. I was lucky my TCI survived.

The stock VR and/or upgaded larger R6 VR fitted @ the stock location will limit the hight you can obtain on the rear of the R6 tail.
