YZF engine in an FZR6

Post by STN »

I was wondering what it would take to throw a YZF600R engine into an FZR600 frame. My engine is getting tired, and I think its time for a bit of an upgrade. I can pick up a YZF engine for fairly cheap, but I'm wondering if I have to get a new wiring harness, or ignition. All that, thanks for the help.

Yes, you can throw the YZF engine in there, but you pretty much have to have everything else with it: carbs, wiring harness (complete), headers.

You pretty much need everything for the engine for the swap to work-which has already been said.

To give a visual:

Not my prettiest work, but it did pull the front tire up a couple feet on take off.
