Pushrod #2 Info

Post by Xer0 »

I think my pushrod #2 (the long one) broke into 2 pieces, but if so it was a pretty clean break. So before I go buying parts I may not need, I need to know the length of the pushrod. I cant find the answer anywhere, so if anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated.

More info and/or photo's would be a good help. Year/Model, the reason you think its snapped, I.E. what is not working correctly.

You mean the clutch pushrod?

The inner end of the pushrod, should show signs of contact with the ball bearing, as for the length IDK

Where in the world in your personal profile would be good so we can at least hazard a guess as to what model bike.

Well what happened was, I was riding home and then I heard a noise and my clutch went slack, when i looked down I had oil leaking out of the bottom of the bike. I read on some forums and found the same thing happened to another guy, and he said it was his pushrod #2 so thats where I checked 1st and I found a small piece that is the same diameter of the pushrod and it looks like it broke off of something. however, the pushrod iteslf doesnt look like something broke off unless it was a clean break. unfortunately i dont have the pics right now, but i will post some later.
Bike is a 89' FZR 600

Sorry I couldnt post any pics, my computer is not reading my brothers camera. I just got a new pushrod#2 sent to me, it measures 9 1/4 inches so the pushrod I had was broken into 3 pieces, one of which left the bike completely. I am going to put the new rod in tomorrow hopefully getting it running again! :)

Just make SURE that that broken piece has LEFT the bike. They are quite hard steel and can punch a hole thro the casing. . I would drop the sump and clean it out clean the magnet & oil strainer & replace my filter. A lot cheapeer than looking for another engine :-{
