Spark plug cable falls out?

Ok.. I am new to this.. but from what I have seen.. spark plug cables dont fall appart? or do they?

The boot has a screw and the cables are screwed in and had black tape... is this normal?

They do, once they've been apart a few times. The screw in the plug cap bites into the copper core; one too many on 'n' off and there's not enough copper to properly bite the screw. Fortunately, the solution is quite simple - trim the cable back an inch or so, until you are once again looking at fresh core. The cap should now attach itself quite snugly.
