For those that have experimented with different octanes, which seemed to work out the best?

Re: Octane
The recent posts on the MPG thread are getting into this question too.
Personally I'm running premium, but on my ride back to DC on Monday I plan to do one tank mid-grade, one tank unleaded and see what happens.

Re: Octane
I used to run premium but recently I switched to regular 87 as recommended by the manual. I seem to be getting better gas millage with the 87
96 Fzr600, YZF front end, D&D exhaust, R6 front calipers & master...
saving up for tank/tail conversion, maybe swingarm too

A dyno would show you are making better power too.FzrAtx wrote:I used to run premium but recently I switched to regular 87 as recommended by the manual. I seem to be getting better gas millage with the 87
Premium is NOT NEEDED unless you have altered (read : Higher) compression signifigantly.

Re: Octane
I've ran all 3. Currently this tank of 87 has my FZR running its smoothest.
