FZR-R6..

Post by match417 »

So i've been playing around in photoshop while i'm sick, and i'm not that great at photoshop, so i'm not gonna say how long it took me to do this..lol. But this is what i expect it to look like when i'm done(w/o all of the white specs). The fairing pieces that I have so far that aren't on the bike are the upper right (still have to pick it up, but i have it, it's road rashed, same guy i got the free tail from), and the front fairing that had a small crack in it. I still need to get a headlight, windscreen, both lower fairings, and the left upper, it's kinda difficult because i'm looking for crashed stuff locally, and "locally" for me is 100 miles, so it sucks, and i'm having trouble finding stuff. What i did notice while photoshopping is the rake between the two bikes is considerably different. I've been searching google to find the rake degree for the FZR, and nothing is coming up, but I did find out the R6 is 24.5 degrees. Anyone know the rake on the FZR offhand? 23??

I love how the R6 fairings make it look beefier, and the starter gear cover peaks right out of that hole perfectly, I'm glad I put the YZF600 peanut on, it fits the R6 fairing design better than the circle peanut cover from the fzr. After I have the fairings on it, it will be raven black and charcoal grey in some places.

And hopefully no one will steal it when i'm done..but if they do they'll be like..what the crap is this?!?! YZF600? no..it's definitely not an R6...what am i gonna do with this thing?? lol..so hopefully they will just return it.

And after all said and done you probably could have just bought an R6 for cheaper. Not bashing. I think that gen R6 is gorgeous. Best looking R6 ever by far.

I disagree, i'm keeping track of how much i'm spending on this, and while normally that would be true, in my situation it isn't. I'm using crashed fairings, the tail was free, i bought the seats $40 a piece, tank was $20, left upper was free, front fairing was $30, and i just found a left upper for $30. So far i'm up to a whopping $160..lol. And with everything i've done to the bike i haven't gone over $1300 total so far, including what i bought it for. I estimate by the time it's done (before i paint it) i'll be at about $1500.

Looks like the upper fairing needs to be raised up some.

not on mine..on csofo's build it needs to be raised (i think that's what you meant though), but if csofo has the R6 front fairing stay then maybe that's why it's that low, it might be the difference in mounts between the two, and if you look at the lower fairing and compare it to my photoshop'd bike, you can see it needs to be raised at least 3 or 4 inches, maybe more. I might lower mine an inch, just because the front tire looks too far away from the front fairing, but i might just lower the front of the bike instead of just the fairing.

yeah, i'm expecting that, i'm making my own out of aluminum flat bar, and i'm probably making my own front fairing stay too, i don't really want to get the stock R6 one, i'll just buy $30 in aluminum instead and start bending.

and i'm picking up the upper right side today! free!
