Re: Magazine Subscriptions
Pay the extra bit and get the UK ones. 2Wheel or Streetfighters are both pretty good. I find the US mags are all about pricey paint jobs and stretched swingarms and bling. No thought, no creativity, just a lot of cash thrown at a bike.

Re: Magazine Subscriptions
I like cycle world just a bit because it is broad based. Even though I am not real into dirtbiking anymore I do like to know a little about what's happening that way. Like the writing staff, too. Seems like they get a littel more indepth about technical stuff, which I like and then they have the feature stuff.
Sport Rider is okay. Seems to be easy to finish reading in one sit tho.
Motor Cyclist when I can find it (for some reason it isn't on the shelves around here much anymore-is it still around?)

Re: Magazine Subscriptions
Motorcyclist or Sport Rider too. Both are good and both stay way from those chrome nut jobs.
I agree with TK, the Euro mags are much better. What sucks though, is reading through an article about a bike you cant buy in the states.

Re: Magazine Subscriptions
You can get a free 1-Year subscription to motorcyclist here: http://www.roadgear.com/index.php?page=Offer
I did it a couple months back and have rec'd 3-4 mags so far. Very good reading!
It does put you on a JUNK MAIL list, but they have only sent me catalogs and other magazine offers, nothing that wasn't related to motorcycles.
I would do it again...

Re: Magazine Subscriptions
I recently subscribed to cycle world and I've got a buddy who passes me his copies of motorcyclist when he finishes them. Both are good, as mentioned above Cycle World is more broad and the articles seem to be more in-depth. Motorcyclist is more sport-bike centric.
Re: Magazine Subscriptions
i had Cycle World for about 10 years in the 90's and early 2000-01. i got a Roadracing World mag at the stand few months back, considering getting that now. A lot more articles, race standings and overall beef than most others, esp. for the money.

Re: Magazine Subscriptions
I just paid for my annual subscription to Squid Monthly. Some of the highlights this month are:
- Getting up to speed quicker riding 2-up
- Shedding clothing and equipment that may impair your judgement or reduce your overall speed.
- Maximizing your Road Rash for effect
- YouTube and you (How to mix quality beats with your crash vids)
- "It's all or nothing!" How to choose the best liter bike for the first time rider.
- Mad Skillz section. How to look like you meant to crash it.
- DIY section. Selecting a quality friend to help with the tribal graphics on your helmet.
- Crash cages. The must have for the season.
- Holiday Hot Buys! We rate the top 47 chrome 12" extended swingarms.
- And much, much more!

Did someone here originally put this one together? It's the bestest.

Re: Magazine Subscriptions
I'm subscribed to motorcyclist and I like it 'cause they usually have 2 or 3 rides in each issue. I also bought an issue of cycle world to read on the plane on my way to Utah last spring break. I liked it a lot.
Thanks, for a country where nobody is allowed to mind his own business. Thanks, for a nation of finks.

Hi,
Hate to tell you that Strretfighter has a couple of of septic bikes full o chrome per issue these days and it has been a GIXXER pusher for years I used to subscribe but it has gone from reasonable to rubbish swear word filled "lads mag" in 2 years.
Performance bike was good when they had a technical editor who was technical not an AD copy paster taking sweetners from the big 4 with the odd euro bike featured occasionally.
I regularly troll the mags to see if any are worth a subscription and the only one I am tempted by is the MOTOGP tech mag that is published bi-monthly just for some of the high tech info that could be adapted to my needs
