My 1989 FZR600 has cut out a couple of times lately. Once this morning whilst on the motorway at speed. It stalls instantly and the oil level light doesn't even stay on. It takes a couple of minutes of turning the ignition on and off in order for the fuel pump to fire and the neutral light to come back on. Does this sound like an electrical problem?
I was thinking that it was possibly the killswitch. I never use the killswitch but it is a bit temperamental. When I use the killswitch it takes a few attempts at turning the ignition on and off in order to get it started again.

You seem to have found the first item to look at.
1990 FZR 1000, 1993 engine, terrible state... but improving.
