Re: New Tires
What is your impression of the Shinkos? I am trying to get rid of my Kenda 130/70/18 rear as I feel 130 is much too small for a rear tire, even for an older bike like the FZR. I'd love to get like a 150/70/18 rear if I could pull it off with the stock swing arm.
1992 FZR 600R - First real motorcycle. A maintenance nightmare. I still love her though.
Re: New Tires
I manage to run a 180 on the rear of the Exup. I run a carbon chainguard and there's no clearance issues
Re: New Tires
My 1994 FZR1000 had 120/60/17 front and 190/50/17 rear when I bought it. Looked cool. No rubbing on the swing arm but there was no extra clearance. Bike did not handle well in the turns/curves when leaned over. Put 120/70/17 front and 180/55/17 rear on the bike and it handled much better leaned over in the turns/curves. Also installed 3.5mm shorter rear suspension links to raise the rear. Changed the suspension enough to work well with these modern tire sizes.
Stock OEM tires size, when the bike was new in 1994, was 130/60/17 front and 170/60/17.
