Front brake seals.

Post by Bon Scott »

Hi all , new to the forum , recentley I have bought a 88 genesis , and I am presentley refurbishing the front brakes. The question is is there any difference in the quality of the ebay seals and those which are more expensive ? Any to stay away from and good suppliers of parts with fair prices, cheers !

I replaced the seals on the rear caliper previous winter with aftermarket items. I then laid the bike up over winter and when i got it out in spring there was fluid all over the rear wheel where the new seals had failed whilst stored. I've since replaced with gen Yam ones and had no issues since....personally, i'd go for OEM every time now where theres a safety aspect involved
If its not broken it dont need fixing
