Re: My FZR250 3LN Renovation and Question Thread
What do you think of the 140 BT45 rear. 130 is standard. I fitted a BT090pro 140/70 to the back of mine and I've had to go +1 tooth on the rear sprocket and -1 on the front, all because the tyres sooo much taller .
Will get a standard size set for my next set.
Any progress with the paint with yours?
Can you just confirm something for me. Yours is the 3LN1 model with an element oil filter? Do you really have to remove the headers to change this filter from underneath?? Been keeping an eye out for a 3LN3 sump so I can change it to spin on type.

Re: My FZR250 3LN Renovation and Question Thread
Sadly things are at a standstill due to this ....
http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/f ... ssue.1125/
.... and Ive been overseas for a couple of months.
Next job is a carby rebuild ..... then maybe the tyres will get to do more than hold the bike off the ground
Ive not attempted a filter change with the headers on as the bike was in pieces when I did the oil .......... doesnt look to be much room there!
I also have non standard sprockets but i cant remember off hand how many teeth I went ... when im seriously riding the thing Ill be experimenting Im sure.
I have a feeling though things like headstock bearings, valves and cam chain might be on the list sooner rather than later

Re: My FZR250 3LN Renovation and Question Thread
When you flick the kill switch to off, then switch it to run - does the fuel pump prime again??? I am sure that when mine stalls - when I hit the starter to crank it over the fuel pump also cuts in. I didn't hear your fuel pump chime in when you cranked it over. I will try and take a video to explain.
Carb rebuild sounds like your next route of attack. Ensure that all jets are std and haven't been mixed up. Diaphragm condition. Check the little O-rings are all present in the tops of the carbs. Check the metal washer & o-ring are present in all 4 idle mixture screws................you'd be amazed...........
Good luck.

Re: My FZR250 3LN Renovation and Question Thread
Hey, I was just wondering if you got any where with changing the sump to a twist filter? Or if it's even possible as I'm about to face the same issue. I have a 3ln3 with a cracked sump and can get a 3ln1 sump to replace it but not sure if it's possible. Don't want to waste my money if it doesn't and don't have any other options.
Cheers

Re: My FZR250 3LN Renovation and Question Thread
Perhaps if everything else fails, iron cement or hydro metal from http://www.diamant-polymer.de might heltp...that are polymer repairpastes which will in case of iron cement bear up to 1600° C and in case of hydro metal up to 650° C...and hydro metal is available for aluminium also (with their plastic metal aluminium superior i'm just restaurating the generatorcover of my FZR 400 3BF )..so there definitely is a way to repair the broken sump if no spareparts actualy are on the market. Its just a bit fuzzying work to grind it in shape after admitting the paste to the cracks and it even will take time to harden properly...but you can put it in a mixture more fluid than quicksteel and so will be able to reach more angles than with the quicksteel if neccesaryGeremy wrote: I have a 3ln3 with a cracked sump and can get a 3ln1 sump to replace it but not sure if it's possible.
