TG,
Lengthening the actual stroke will help BUT watch out for the return & feed holes and the length apart still working, maybe a shortened piston itself ??????

ok.switched the slave cylinder with a smaller scooter single cylinder caliper, made a mounting plate and .....it works...sort of. the clutch disengages as soon as i pull in the clutch handle (only needs 1 cm of pull). but the wheel does not move as freely as when the bike is in neutral. is this normal? and the cluch is hard to pull (compared to when the fzr 1000 slave cylinder was used)

now you see what I mean by:-
"The handlebar lever bore & the slave cylinder bore work like gear ratio's in this respect."

YG,
Yes, I undestand now.
But is one thing that I don't understand. The amount of movement that this slave cylinder is making looks the same as the fzr 1000 one did, and still this one disengages the clutch. And one more question, do you think it's ok for the wheel to spin as hard as is with the clutch pulled in. With the clutch full in, you have to push it a little bit harder at first to make it spin, but as soon as you move it a bit it spins more freely. Also if you keep the clutch pulled in and stop spinning the wheel and then you start spinning it again, it will more freely at the first move as well. Is this good or is this bad?

Has the bike been sitting for a while? Sometimes it can bind up a little and stick when its been sitting, and once you break it loose everything kinda drags. Once the bike is started and the oil is moving, and the output shaft spins a few times, it looses up.

TG,
that sounds like oil drag as it is so cold & sticky. When i had to deal with cold auto's I used a lamp to keep the engine block warmer and the oil from getting almost like varnish/treacle
