Is there battery voiltage at the coil primaries (smal wires) when the bike is keyed/switched "on" ?Cursed94FZR600 wrote:it does everything but catch. it doesn't have a spark, the coils are good. checked them twice. the pickup is good, according to the resistance.

OK, so i tested my ingitor on another fzr in stl. the ignitor thing is fine, His bike fired right up. so not really sure what to do next.

IS THERE BATTERY VOLTAGE AT THE COILS WHEN BIKE IS KEYED AND SWITCED 'ON' ??

Re: bike won't start
there was last time i checked, middle of last week. the batt is dead right now so I'm charging it was will check again tomorrow.
Re: bike won't start
Just a weird hunch.....put a test light, or multimeter on the DC scale on either the grey, or orange coil lead-and to the frame/engine/ground and key the bike 'on'. (the light should light, or meter should show battery voltage)Cursed94FZR600 wrote:there was last time i checked, middle of last week. the batt is dead right now so I'm charging it was will check again tomorrow
When you hit the 'start' button...does the light stay on(meter stay at battery voltage)?

ok so i just went out. the was voltage coming out of the digital ignitor. but when i tried to start if the

it was vibrating and making a funny noise. it could be from the battery voltage being low. i haven't had a chance to pull it and charge it.
is this my problem? do these things go bad? what is it?

That's teh starter solenoid, and it is NORMAL for them to click/buzz when they aren't getting good voltage.Cursed94FZR600 wrote:ok so i just went out. the was voltage coming out of the digital ignitor. but when i tried to start if the

I have to say...this has gotten waaaaaaay outta hand and waaaaaaaay too complicated. I'm willing to bet the stator/pickup coil has gone bad. Believe it or not that actually happens. As I stated earlier in this thread, if that goes bad it won't start...geez...no one listens.

Re: bike won't start
if when you hitthe button and the starter solinoid buzzes constantly and only goes away when you turn the ignition off, then you have wrong battery or something. thats what my bike did when I hooked up a sealed battery that went to an r6.
