G,
well it is nice to hear that you realise that as biker it is a "can do attitude" that is required. Also good to hear that you do not like those eze-out nonsense as last time I slated them I got jumped on LoL.
As for your neighbourhood you will have to nose around a bit further a field as I did in Ft Lauderdale (where they really were snobbish about me riding a bike as opposed to riding in some gas guzzler), but I found a like minded ex-marine just a mile or so away up the A1A .
The nice thing about DIY bike work is the sense of accomplishment when you are done almost (I do say almost ) as good as sex <BG>
Glad you got it fixed and the grin factor is in place

Re: Stuck Bolt
If i gave up after the first "i cant do it" incident i would never of got my cg running. Worst bit of kit ever designed are those easy outs, the reversed threads on the just strip at even the slightest bit of resistance from the bolt. Sounds just like my street, constant moans and looks when im letting the divvy warm up in the morning. Village i live in is full of the older generation, (its a quiet village when my bikes not running
) and as i dont drive i can transport the wheel anywhere else hense having to do it the hard way.
I've always said my bike is like a woman, once you establish authority and have played around with her, she never fails to give a good ride and put a smile on my face

I was moaning in a joking way, wiring really isn't that bad... It's just my least favorite of repairs to do at times. Especially when it is an intermittent short on a dirty old motorcycle with PO hacked wiring and all replaced wires are the same color (true story)
However, I will gladly do any electrical repairs if they are keeping me from riding.

well the remedy for all one colour loom is to remove it and re-build it over the winter, if you take a look in the WIKI (working from memory here :-{) there is a contact for a vendor who sells OEM style diy plugs & sockets
at sensible money he also sells plain wires as well as striped wires (site is http://www.kojaycat.com ) tell him I said he was the man should put a smile on his face.
I started on making a complete new loom for my "Yellow Peril" Special with his stuff unfortunately my spine has not allowed me to finish it so far at least but I know I have everything I need.
