Re: I think someone at Bridgestone likes us
Yeah, I thought that would be the case. I worked at a motorcycle tire store in late 80's and early 90's and have had alot of experience trying to put too much tire on not enough rim. The same result: triange profile, quick turn in, but small contact patch and reduced traction at lean angles
89 FZR 600 Rat. Paid $500.00 in winter of 08
Since then: Factory Pro emulsion tubes, Factory Pro jetting
520 chain and sprockets 15/48
4.00 x 18 rear wheel
Shinko 006 tires
Kawasaki ZX9 front master cylinder and 2 line braided hoses
R6 VR
Fresh paint on bodywork and wheels
Working on R6 shock and 4 piston brakes
Still a rat but it's fun
Other rides in the stable
2000 DRZ400S 99 KDX220 99 XR100 81 PW50 81 NC50

well things are looking good, it's in transit according to UPS. No email from them saying "we're sorry that tire doesn't exist" is a good sign.
Re: I think someone at Bridgestone likes us
it's official, not a rumor or a misprint. Great news for the FZR community in my opinion and hopefully going to stick around

Wow! That is really good news. I suggest everyone order one now so they think they're a hit and they keep producing more!

my very thought, I may order a spare myself just in case and to show some love for the sizing.ragedigital wrote:Wow! That is really good news. I suggest everyone order one now so they think they're a hit and they keep producing more!

mount and ride report:
The 70 series looks like a dang balloon tire the sidewalls are so high but it provides a little more clearance
That clearance allow for...............................NO CHICKEN STRIPS!!!!!! Yes it's cheesy but they bugged me on the 60 series, just didn't have the right combo of clearance and profile
Still as great as I remembered, no movement at all in the 50 mile scrub in ride. Hit some heavily rippled pavement and it didn't make any issues, kinda makes up for the worn out shock in the grip department.
Turn in, not as sharp as the 60 series which has a slightly rounder profile but so small I don't think most will mind and you can always raise the rear some to counter act it with less rake/trail. I probably will be doing so.

Nice idea Rage but storage remains an issue if not fitted immediately as the tyre if put in a centrally heated environment or removed from the factory wrapping will dry out very quickly and crack to a degree where it is down right deadly to use. I made this mistake a couple of years back and wasted 120 Quid for a new tyre that I never got to ride !!!!
