Re: LED turn signals

Post by lt61173 »

I tried with the dash light removed and still no luck. I found 2 other relays online but I hate to buy either because if they do not work it is not so easy to return. "http://www.rackmount-devices.com/007-9909.html" is one and "http://www.customled.com/products/flash ... _relay.htm" is the other. Does anyone have any good or bad things to say about these as it may tip the scales. I can wire some dummy lights under the seat that I can black out so the LED will work but I would rather them work correctly. Either that or just use the stock ones and be done with it.

NOTE: In some rare instances, when there are NO incandescent loads on the blinker system (LEDs front and rear), one pair of our Stage I Load Equalizers will also be required to prevent a wide range of blinker problems. These problems are all associated with a lack of resistive load on an all-LED blinker system that was designed for incandescent lamps. Problems such as, but not limited to: the 4-way blink problem (both sides blinking at the same time), the no-blink problem, and Integrated LED Tail Lights staying in "blinker mode" due to non-zero blinker voltages.
^^^^^^^ That could be beneficial.

Both sites have e-mail addresses contact them for more info, why all 4 can possibly flash.

Well I decided to try the 2 dummy lights and they worked. I get the fast flash with the stock blinker but I kinda like it. I just wired 1 light on each side in the back and wire tied them back by the tail light. It is not a "right" fix but it works. Total cost was 10 bucks. I may try one of the other flashers down the road.

The load resistors I mentioned (linked on this site somewhere) mimic the stock turn signals, they would surely be a better fix.

read the part where it says "one pair of our Stage I Load Equalizers will also be required to prevent a wide range of blinker problems."

I thought about the resistors but I read somewhere that they can get hot.

These resistors have ONE BIG advantage they are metal cased for mounting on a suitable chunk of metal(frame / VR plate ) acting as a heat sink WHEN they get hot !!!!
