You gotta stop over here in New Hampshire " The First State of Motorcycles" and meet up with at least 5 or 6 of your Fizzer brothers. We'll have a beer waiting for you. :headbang:

I bought a set of Teknic Speedster saddle bags a few months ago. They mought via adjust able straps. Two straps going over the top, and then 4 straps that latch into the subframe from underneith.

Definatly get a good quality tent.

make sure to stay in NORTH arizona if you're coming through in the summertime. it is retarded hot here in the summer. people just don't know until they get here. sedona is up north a bit but it still gets pretty damn hot. you should go north around flagstaff, go see the grand canyon or something (something i still haven't done, and i've lived here for 12ish years).

either way, if you come through, i'll do my best to come up and meet you, grab a coffee, have a quick ride or whatever.

For most of us it's just crazy hot everywhere in Arizona in the summer. I did a trip a few year ago to the Grand Canyon (pics above) it was 120 degrees and not so much as a shadow to hide under.. oh, not to mention that gas stations are about 200 miles apart.. Sweet when your bikes have a 130mile range..

PS .. i do it again in a minute :shocker

yes i agree. you were at the grand canyon and it was 120??? yuck! thats not normal at all. its like that here in the valley a lot during the summer though. and its shaping up to be a hot one this year too. its already been in the mid 80's this week, in february that is ridiculous.

i will definitely be putting the manual fan switch on my bike before summer hits. just sitting in traffic for a few minutes while its 80ish makes that needle creep up to around 3/4 of the way :duh:

The Grand Canyon area was fine still hot but places to get out of the heat .. The 7 hour desert ride was flat and hot and only us! As we were riding we'd hit hotspots were the temp spiked up, it was over 110 when we left Vegas in the Am. It was crazy, we had lots of water but no place to hide from the Sun. In the middle of nowhere for hours and NOBODY around.. Ironically we had cell coverage almost everywhere which gave me some level of confidence.

Gas- I've done this ride a few times before and had to turn around before so i was well prepared with gas locations.. (the indian reservation is outside of motorcycle range unless you are carrying cans.) So i stayed on the main road from Vegas (last gas stop is Boulder city, a very cool little town frozen in time) into Kingman (which felt like 130 miles but on mapquest is about 80 miles).. Kingman to flagstaff has lots of stops and is less intimidating.. With a GPS, i would have more "balls" but from my past experiences, the desert scares me...
