i've thought about putting a full r6 fairing set on my bike, i have two tails and a front fairing already, all from 03 - 05 R6. I just need seats for my conversion, but i'm not putting the front fairing on, nor am i getting side fairings. I noticed that it won't look right, the fairings are made to fit the engine, the engine covers kindof stick out of the fairings in the right spots. I saw an FZR with a full 03 - 05 fairing conversion, it looked nice at a glance, but if you looked near the engine it looked weird and the fairings looked out of place. The only conversion i'd do to it (other than the r6 tail) is a YZF600 front and side conversion, or maybe try to fiberglass my R6 front fairing onto some YZF600 sides, that might look ok. But there is too much of a difference in design between the fzr sides and the r6 front, i held the r6 front beside my fzr sides because i was planning on fiberglassing it to where it would fit, but the fzr sides have a boxy design, and the r6 front has a sleek design. they don't even compliment each other at all.

by the way, i noticed that you're using the 99 tail with the stock fzr front seat, can a girl still ride on the back? is the rear seat too far away for someone to sit on the back safely? i can't fit anyone on the back seat of mine with the cbr tail, she has to squeeze in and share my front seat, which isn't really a bad thing

And i'm not going with the stock FZR sticker, i'm going to draw my own one up and have the logo place print it out on red vinyl. I already have in my head how i want it to look.

I dont have a rear seat on mine lol. its the r6 conversion tail. She would indeed have to sqeeze with me on the front seat. and I dont have the passenger pegs on my bike, for some reason I have a 2 left side pegs but no right...

and why would the front fairing look bad on the bike? I would think that if you used the full fairing set then it would look just like an r6.

at a glance it does look like an r6, but the full r6 conversion just looks weird a bit, it's not the front that looks bad in the conversion, it's just where the side fairings lay over the engine, they don't line up over the engine. the r6 fairing has it's "windows" that the engine covers peep through, but the fzr engine covers don't stick through them they sit behind them, and it just doesn't look right. I can't really explain it, just trust me, it looks funny. The front fairing looks fine on it, i was just saying that it looks weird when mating it up with the FZR side fairings because the FZR sides are a boxy design and the R6 front is a sleek/smooth design.

well if you trust yourself you can fiberglass over the r6 fairing engine holes and but out holes that will fit the FZR engine.
Its alot of work, but If I had the chance then I would do it.

that's too much work, and probably wouldn't look right. its easier to just go with the yzf600 sides and make it fit the r6 front.

Hi,
If you ever have to stop suddenly with her on your seat, you will never need a girlfriend again! :yikes:

some where I have a picture of one of my race bike alloy tanks with the imprint of my wedding tackle on it, I walked like John Wayne for about 8 weeks and that was just me at 168lbs and stopping from about 40mph without the addition of a 100lb+ of girl's help.

ha..yeah, that's probably not far from the truth..thats why i'd like to keep the fzr front seat. since it curves up the tank cover a bit and adds "insurance"
