how to get OEM chain off?

I say yes. I don't see how you could get perfectly "even" force across that link in the AMOUNT of force you will need doing it any other way, unless you're Superman.

I think this is what you need. Although I understand the confusion because on the first couple pages it shows a $132 tool and a $90 tool with a bunch of other parts, must be for other size chains or exerts more pressure, but I can tell you this one works just fine for $15. Just be patient with it and do 1/2 turn at a time with the allen wrench.

Guys...why buy 2 or even 3 tools when there is one that does it all.

PIMP...yes you still need a chain press tool to press the master link on properly- even for the clip type.
