Hi Willandrip,

It is a air/fuel ratio gauge. So it lets you know if you are running rich or lean. I am crap at turning my carbies based of how well the bike is pulling.
This is a bit more scientific. What I like about this kit is the small LED read out which I am going to incorporate into one the tacho.

Where would the sensor go ?
Alright on a motor with only one fuel source but an engine with muti sources must need multi plugs surely.?
Does it have that provision ?

Most of the carb mix requirements will be close enough that a single gauge in the midpipe is enough. The idle mix can be set with a heat gun, checking each individual pipe temp. Whether the 2-3 cyls need to drop a main jet size relative to the mains is something that can only be tested the old-fashioned way.

I understand the reasoning why 2-3 cyls have smaller mains than 1-4 but don't understand why some FZR400 models have this set up and some don't.

Because it doesn't really make much if any difference in practice.
The idea is the middle cylinders run hotter because they're on the inside and pick up heat from the outers and the outers run cooler beacse they can shed heat because they have more external area. The reality is they're liquid cooled and the head / base gasket is more likely to control them.

It's not so much the middle cylinders as the middle intakes; as the tract runs hotter, the charge becomes less dense and so needs less fuel and a smaller main jet.

As the evilchicken noted, the effect isn't large and depending on the machine and jetting can be neglected.
