FZR 1000 RU NO IGNITION

Hi all , I am new to this forum < which looks very good may I say ! ,
I wonder if anyone can help , I switched off my bike to nip in a shop , when I tried to start it again it didn't start on the first press of the starter , unfortunately I pressed the starter again whilst the starter motor was still slightly spinning , the result being no ignition lights on , bike completely dead , after pushing the thing home , which nearly killed me , I checked all the fuses behind the seat panel , and all are ok , does anyone know what the problem could be , or where to look next ?

Did you check the 30A main fuse, on the left side back by the tail light?
