OK, hook it up. I'm looking forward to the next video, best of luckFreestyle72 wrote:Throttle cable wasn't hooked up.
However I finally got my tig welder running properly today so I can finish welding up some of the brackets I have been waiting to do (ie throttle cable bracket). So when I get some time I will try to get after it.

Come on man don't keep us in suspenders get that "throttle cable bracket" welded in there, let us all hear the power. We have waited almost a year

Re: Fuel Injection kits for the FZR400, FZR600, YZF600
I welded it up. Everything is good to go. It was a few things like the throttle linkages and stuff had to make sure it would be good.
Anyways I did it all a few days ago I took some pictures I'll post up. I was running headers only from the arrow R6 that I bought a while back and I got the bike started but it seemed to be idling too high (about 3500 rpm) and it was basically straight piped so I didn't let it run long like that cuz its so loud. Anyways so I stuck my r6 header with slip on there and couldn't get it to start. It was close but no start. Futher to that it was minus 10 degrees celcius out so it was f*ck cold and hard to start. I think I am going to try some new spark plugs as well since I pulled mine and they look like they could use a change.
Anyways there won't beany updates for a few weeks since I work about 600 miles from my home and do so for a couple weeks at a time. Add to the fact it's coldas f*ck outside and I am not that motivated to get it done . However I will try to get it started again as soon as a get back... just because you motivated me to.

Re: Fuel Injection kits for the FZR400, FZR600, YZF600
Welded a couple washers in to complete the linkage
The choke assembly
Jigging it up for welding
Re-assembled
My welds aren't great by any means yet as I am just learning but in any case they are strong enough for the given application.
Getting some pointers on my welding at work here from our pipe fitter welder. He is going to teach me hands on after work.

So got it started again but it's idling pretty high and it's running extremely rich. Revved it a little bit for that individual who asked why I hadn't revved it before.

FS,
well done that man , been quite a while in the making but just to hear it kick in was really something.
nice work.
The real work starts now though and that is getting the mapping spot on. Mind you unless you have Dyno in the back yard you are going to get a lot of saddle time which is always good news .
Congrats

That's an interesting staccato it's got when you're not on the throttle, is that just the pipe or is it missing on one cylinder?

Missing a cylinder... good ear.Kurlon wrote:That's an interesting staccato it's got when you're not on the throttle, is that just the pipe or is it missing on one cylinder?
found one of my spark plug wires was loose like 1 minute after that video, and obviously the bike didn't run/feel as smooth.

Any updates? I just found this thread, and I think your ambition is admorable. I'm glad you didn't get discouraged early on. And big props to YG for outlining the required conditions for this thread to continue.

Re: Fuel Injection kits for the FZR400, FZR600, YZF600
You are correct - one size does not fit all. That said, certain basic components can be reused or modified. Freestyle is talking about adaptive kits and hardware. The price is still in the discussion / pondering phase, and at any rate is between FS and anyone willing to pay it.

Re: Fuel Injection kits for the FZR400, FZR600, YZF600
For starters, the 'fitment' is based on the head. His current kit will shove onto any YZF600 head. Considering I'm running 3TJ carbs on a YZF600 head in my project, there is a good chance this TB setup will slap onto a 3TJ 400 as well. Once you have the mechanicals sorted, the electrical and tuning are the easy parts in comparison.

I beg to differ.Kurlon wrote:Once you have the mechanicals sorted, the electrical and tuning are the easy parts in comparison.

- I was initially seeing if anyone would be interested in a kit to help lessen machine costs and possibly purchase in bulk rather than just 1 prototype. I am actually happy it tuners out the way it did since I got to experiment with a couple things instead of heading in one direction and investing full bore that way.
This thread was a feeler anyway. I am not sure why you get so butt hurt about my posts. Maybe because no one gives a shit about yours.
Have a nice day.
